Areas of focus
Trained in the assessment of various learning and mental health difficulties for persons throughout the lifespan. Proficient in assessing the following areas: intellectual, academic, memory, visual-motor integration, attention, executive functioning, phonological processing, oral language, mental health, self-concept, adaptive functioning, social skills, and Autism.
I provide assessment for children, adolescents, and adults who are struggling with various mental health, social, occupational, academic, and other concerns.
I have more than 30 years of experience as an educator working with children and youth from kindergarten to grade 12. I have worked as an elementary classroom teacher, Special Education Resource Teacher (elementary and secondary), York University sessional instructor, and a Special Education Consultant. As a Special Education Consultant, I focused on the coordination of a multidisciplinary team to support schools with strategies and resources for students with special education needs.
I have a broad understanding of effective accommodations and modifications required for programming and a deep understanding of evidence-based practices to support children and youth with a range of exceptionalities.
After 30 years, I still enjoy working with children and youth and wasn’t ready to fully retire! I am happy to continue working with children and youth as a psychometrist.
